Stab victim’s ex tormented his grieving mum
WOMAN IN COURT AFTER DEATH THREATS
A GRIEVING knife victim’s mum received death threats from her dead son’s former partner.
Feelings were running high after Fise Ames Abdou, was stabbed to death and Katie Shone took her anguish out on his mum, Audra. A court heard she turned up at her home in June and shouted threats indicating she blamed Audra for Fise’s death.
Now Shone, who was already on a suspended prison sentence for driving offences at the time, has been given a community order at Newcastle Crown Court.
Michael Bunch, prosecuting, said: “The offence took place on June 23 this year outside the home address of this defendant’s former partner’s mother, against an unfortunate background that earlier this year the former partner of this defendant and the complainant’s son, was murdered.
“That led to a falling out between the defendant and the deceased’s mother. On the occasion this took place the defendant attended her address banging on the door of her home and when she became aware Mrs Ames was aware she was there she shouted ‘I’m going to kill you like you killed Fise.’”
Mrs Ames said in a victim impact statement: “I’m really struggling following the death of my son and I don’t need this stress. I’m in distress about the
case. Katie knows this but has still done this to me. I’m now scared to leave my own home.”
Shone, 34, of Imeary Street, South Shields, who has 44 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to harassment and admitted being in breach of the suspended sentence.
She was sentenced to a 12-month community order with a two-year restraining order.
Recorder James Wood KC told her: “You and the victim here blamed each other for his death and you sought to blame her due to the fact she asked him to leave her house due to his drug use and felt the night before his death she and her son had robbed some local drug dealer which led to him being robbed and murdered.
“You were no doubt grieving for the loss of your companion.
“You shouted at her, you threatened to kill her, saying you had just got out of prison and you started to kick the door and repeated you were going to kill her, for several minutes, then walked off.
“It had appalling consequences for her.
“She said you caused her an enormous amount of stress.”
Kelly Sharif, defending, said: “She did some rehab and is fully abstinent from drugs and doing really well in her life.”
The court heard she has a young daughter.
Following a trial last month, Shaun Riches was found guilty of Fise’s manslaughter, while he and two other men were cleared of murder.
