BILLINGHAM Town remain at the top of the Division Two table after they claimed an impressive win in an entertaini­ng meeting with Easington Colliery.

Nathan O’neill scored twice for the Colliers but they were left emptyhande­d as Jack Pounder, Kyle Davis, Leighton Harris and David Gordon all scored to give Town a 4-2 win.

Boro Rangers kept up the pressure on the leaders as a Stuart Rose brace and a goal apiece from Daniel Lofts and Tom Bligh gave them a 4-0 home win against Chester-le-street United.

Blyth Town lie in third place after they romped to a 7-1 win at nineman Willington.

Brandon Slater led the way with four goals for the visitors and Dillon Short, Nathan Beesley and Liam

Wotherspoo­n also found the target as Michael Connor’s men eased to three points.

Mason Burton netted a consolatio­n for their hosts, who had Liam Lawlor and Ryan Cummings sent-off in the second-half.

Redcar Town claimed an impressive 4-1 win at Bedlington Terriers thanks to a Carl Williams brace and a goal apiece from Kurtis Hawes and Joe Bennett.

Matthew Hayton netted a late consolatio­n for their hosts.

Birtley Town were also among the goals as they scored five at Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.

Jack Honour scored twice and Aidan Rutledge, Glen Hargrave and Andrew Clarkson were also on target for the Hoops.

Daniel Wright and Levi Collins hit the target once again for Boldon CA but their goals could only earn their side a point as Craig Fairley and Will Morris netted to give Prudhoe YC a 2-2 draw at the Villa.

Timmy Browne and Lewis Scorgie scored in Newcastle University’s 2-1 home win over Horden CW and Danny Boyle, Danny Earl and James Ward gave Billingham Synthonia a 3-1 win at Sunderland West End.

Kai Lewiston and Carl Malpass goals were enough to give Brandon United a 2-0 win at Chester-le-street Town and Robbie Williamson’s equaliser earned Washington a 1-1 draw at Esh Winning after Cobi Jones had put the hosts in front.
