Peet puts Colls ahead but Highwaymen force a draw

-

MORPETH Town remain two places and one point outside of the Premier Division play-off spots after they battled to a 1-1 draw at Atherton Collieries.

Full-back Gaz Peet put the Colls in front nine minutes before halftime but the Highwaymen hit back to claim a point thanks to a Liam Noble equaliser as the game entered the final quarter of an hour.

Marske United began the postcarl Jarrett era on a low mark as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Hyde United.

A first-half strike from Manasse Mampala decided the contest as the Seasiders now turn their attention towards replacing their long-serving former manager following his shock departure earlier this week.

Hebburn Town boosted their promotion push in the East Division as they put in a professional display to take all three points from their visit to former Northern League and FA Vase Final rivals Consett.

Liam Henderson was the matchwinner for the Hornets as the former Morpeth Town frontman netted a goal in each half to keep his side in touch with league leaders Stockton Town.

The Anchors were in stunning form to preserve their slender lead at the top of the table as they romped to a 4-0 home win against Bridlington Town.

Michael Roberts led the way with a brace and there was a goal apiece for Nathan Mulligan and Stephen Thompson as Michael Dunwell’s men eased to all three points.

Dunston UTS were in an equally goal-hungry mood as they won by the same scoreline in their home clash with Brighouse Town.

There were four different scorers as Will Jenkins, Richard Coulson, Terry Galbraith and Jack Elliott all found the net for Chris Swailes’ side.

North Shields are just a point outside of the play-off spots after they came from behind to see off Carlton Town at the Daren Person Stadium.

Aaron Opoku put the visitors ahead inside the opening five minutes but a first-half equaliser from Dan Wilson and a dramatic late winner from recent signing Antonio Agostinho helped the Robins continue their impressive run of form.

Shildon were unable to ease their relegation concerns as the Railwaymen fell to a 2-0 defeat at Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Luke Rawson and Mitchell Langton scored two quickfire first-half goals for the hosts as they seized control and they saw out the game against a Shildon side reduced to ten men by Dean Thexton’s dismissal just before half-time.
