Lamb fires Heaton to five wins in a row

-

ASHINGTON were unable to put pressure on the clubs above them in the Division One table as Heaton Stannington continued their impressive upturn in form with a win at Woodhorn Lane.

Konner Lamb scored the only goal of the game as Dean Nicholson’s men claimed a fifth consecutive league win and showed they are beginning to relish life in the league’s top tier following last season’s promotion.

A late equaliser from Jon Shepherd denied West Allotment Celtic from claiming all three points in their visit to Northallerton Town.

Scott Mccarthy fired the hosts in front ten minutes into the second-half but Shepherd’s last-gasp equaliser ensured the spoils were shared.

Former Sunderland and Middlesbrough academy striker Cole Kiernan was in fine form once again as his brace helped Guisborough Town to a 4-0 home win against Crook Town.

Ben Jackson and Joe Scaifewheatley also scored for the Priorymen.

Sunderland RCA were reduced to eight men as they wasted a firsthalf lead in their defeat at Pickering Town.

Steve Riley’s men went in front when Jordan Lavery scored five minutes before half-time but their hosts took the honours with goals from Jamie Poole and Harry Jessop.

RCA had Darryl Hall, Dominic Moan and Callum Patton dismissed during the second-half.

And two goals apiece from Lewis Bateman and Andrei Ardelean put Tow Law Town on their way to a 4-2 win at Carlisle City.

Boro Rangers moved to the top of the Division Two table as they edged a five-goal thriller at Boldon CA.

Daniel Lofts, Callum Hickman and Stuart Rose all scored for the visitors but goals from Chris Tarn and Levi Collins meant they had to work hard for their way.

Collins could have even snatched a point for Boldon but he failed to convert a penalty deep in second-half injury-time.

Bedlington Terriers were comfortable winners in their home game against Prudhoe YC as Jakub Zych, Gilberto Chapim and Joe Thompson and Glen Hargrave and Aidan Rutledge scored to give Birtley Town a 2-0 win at Easington Colliery.

Jarrow and Ryton and Crawcrook Albion shared the spoils at Perth Green as hosts forward Abu Salim cancelled out a Dan O’reilly strike and Jay Gibson’s hat-trick inspired Chester-le-street United to a 5-0 home win against Esh Winning.

Jack Oliver and Benji Shodeinde also netted for the hosts.
