Police hunt for accused man on run

A MAN who failed to appear in court in Warrington may be in Newcastle, police say.

Scott Stevens is wanted by Cheshire Police after failing to turn up to Warrington Magistrates’ Court to answer an assault charge.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Thursday and police believe he could be in the Newcastle area.

Anyone who sees him is urged to contact police.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Constabulary said: “Stevens is described as white, around 5ft 11in tall with a slim build. He has brown hair and blue eyes and is believed to be in the Warrington or Newcastle areas.

“Anyone who sees Stevens or has any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101, give details via cheshire. police.uk or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
