Molester jailed at last af­ter vic­tim speaks up

Man, 54, in hospi­tal af­ter at­tack

DE­TEC­TIVES are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a “tar­geted at­tack” in Stock­ton af­ter a man was stabbed.

The 54-year-old man is in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion in James Cook Univer­sity Hospi­tal af­ter he was at­tacked in the Mill Lane area of the town. Po­lice were called to Burgess Street at around 8.40pm on Fri­day night, where foren­sics of­fi­cers could be seen erect­ing a tent out­side an ad­dress. Neigh­bours said there was ac­tiv­ity in the street un­til the early hours of yes­ter­day.

In a state­ment, Cleve­land Po­lice said: “In­ves­ti­ga­tions are at an early stage, how­ever de­tec­tives are work­ing to de­ter­mine the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent, in­clud­ing look­ing at CCTV and con­duct­ing house-to­house en­quiries.”

Court re­porter A MAR­RIED dad who posed as a doc­tor to mo­lest a school­girl has fi­nally been brought to jus­tice – af­ter the vic­tim plucked up the courage to re­port him while watch­ing a TV pro­gramme about sex­ual abuse.

For more than a decade, Hu­maiun Khan hid a dark se­cret but now he can fi­nally be ex­posed as a per­vert who forced him­self on a 14-year-old girl.

A court heard he had won the trust of the girl by claim­ing he was a young doc­tor and show­ered her with praise, while say­ing he would care for her.

When she met him, it was ap­par­ent he was not who he claimed to be and he ended up taking her to a de­serted car park and sex­u­ally abused her.

Af­ter­wards, Khan warned her not to tell any­one what he had done and gave her a mo­bile phone in the hope he could keep in touch.

When the girl told him she never wanted to see him again, he threat­ened that he had taken in­ti­mate pho­to­graphs of her, which he would pub­lish on­line.

Af­ter the at­tack in 2002, the vic­tim was too afraid to re­port what had hap­pened to the po­lice.

But, while watch­ing a pro­gramme deal­ing with the topic of sex­ual abuse in 2016, she and her hus­band de­cided to go to the po­lice about what had hap­pened HU­MAIUN KHAN’S VIC­TIM
