Bell hopes to ring the changes in Japan series

-

NORTH racing driver Matt Bell is eyeing a return to form this weekend as he takes on the second round of the Asian Le Mans Series in Japan this morning.

The Newcastle-born United Autosports driver will join regular team-mate Kay van Berlo and fellow Brit Christian England as the latter fills in for his usual compatriot Jim Mcguire.

Bell’s return to the Asian championship two weeks ago at China’s Shanghai International Circuit wasn’t what he was hoping for as he and the number 3 car crew came away with sixth place.

And while the finish was made even more difficult for him after the team’s other cars came away with four podiums in total, including a class win for the number 23 Ligier JS P2 car, Bell is determined to bounce back this weekend and admits he can’t wait to get going.

“I love Fuji,” he said. “It was my favourite race from the last time I raced in the Asian Le Mans Series. I love Japan, Tokyo and the track, so hopefully it won’t be too cold, but either way I’m really looking forward to it.”

Action kicks off at 4am UK time with the race set to finish at 8am.
