Blaydon breeze to win

RAMPANT Blaydon ran in six tries while shutting out Kirkby Lonsdale to extend their winning streak to five games.

After a number of attempts to cross the line had been thwarted, the visitors ran in their first try when Nathan Bailey started and finished a flowing move to register the first points of the game, James Guy adding the conversion.

Nathan Horsfall and Bailey combining again 10 minutes later with the same outcome and Guy once more on target.

The home side held out for the remainder of the half but Blaydon were by far the more mancing.

James Cooney scored the third try, taking the ball at the 22-metre line and taking off at pace and racing 70 metres for a superb score.

Both sides lost a player to the sin bin but Blaydon moved a back into the forwards to retain their domination and score three more tries.

Alex Clark finished off a flowing movement and then from some excellent interplay between backs and forwards front-rower Anthony Harvey drove over from close range.

In the closing minutes the scoring was completed as Clark crossed for a second time, with Guy landing a third successful conversion.
