Ref right to halt game
JACK Ross said abandoning Sunderland’s game at Accrington Stanley was the correct decision.
A downpour had put the game in doubt but the weather eased just in time before kick-off.
But with the scores level at 1-1, the rain returned and the game was halted in the 73rd minute.
Ross said: “I had my concerns about the game starting and the conditions have worsened to the extent that you can see now – you can’t play on that, and there does become an element of farce about it.”
