Ferry crash in port

-

PASSENGERS were left stuck on a cross-channel ferry after it collided with its berth while mooring.

The vehicle door of the Brittany Ferries Plymouth to Roscoff service could not be opened after the incident, leaving passengers unable to get off for around an hour and a half yesterday morning.

One passenger said there was a “big jolt” as the Armorique, which can carry up to 1,500 passengers and 470 cars, docked after an overnight crossing to the port in Brittany, north west France.

A Brittany Ferries spokesman said that “while manoeuvring at very slow speed, the ship made heavier than usual contact with the berth.
