Boy band back for gig

-

EAST 17 are coming to the North East and you could hear the group perform their festive classic in Gateshead.

The 1994 Christmas number one hit Stay Another Day kept Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is You off the top spot.

The Londoners arrive at Christmas Tyne winter village in Baltic Square next Saturday to perform albeit with a few lineup changes since their 90s heyday.

When they performed at Sunderland’s Kubix Festival in the summer, original member Terry Caldwell was joined by new frontman Robbie Craig.

Fellow originals Brian Harvey, pictured, and Tony Mortimer, who wrote Stay Another Day about his brother, have been missing from East 17 for a number of years now but Robbie has earned praise from fans for his vocals on the band’s hits.

They will be performing in the Tipi bar at Christmas Tyne with tickets on sale now online from the Gigs North East website.
