Staff to be honoured for work in one of region’s success stories
CONTACT centre staff are to be honoured for their hard work.
Preparations are under way for this year’s North East Contact Centre Awards on Wearside.
The annual ceremony, first held in 2003, aims to recognise and reward the achievements of the employees who have helped the industry become such a great success in the region.
It will also hand out awards for company excellence to businesses with more than 250 seats and those with fewer than 250 seats.
Last year, 500 people attended the event at the Rainton Meadows Arena and this year’s ceremony, sponsored by NRG, will take place there on November 9.
Other awards include contact centre dream team, customer hero, best new talent and innovative use of technology.
Before then, two free workshops to give help and advice from judges to applicants are being held on July 4, in Houghton, and July 5 in North Tyneside.
Paul Buie, company manager of Tyne and Wear Development Company, said: “The contact centre industry has developed significantly over the last 10 years and the same is true of the North East Contact Centre Awards, which have played an important role in promoting and developing the sector.
“We’re delighted to be hosting the 10th edition of the event which will again celebrate the skills and contributions of professionals working in a sector that is one of the most successful in the region.”
