RELY ON RAKTIMAN

SAM DRAKE’S NINE-YEAR-OLD CAN PRODUCE SUNDAY BEST AT MARKET RASEN TO FOLLOW UP CATTERICK WIN RELY ON RAKTIMAN

-

Raktiman can appreciate a drop in grade to land the feature Brown And Co Limited Novices’ Handicap Chase at Market Rasen tomorrow.

Sam Drake’s nine-yearold could not quite cut the mustard in a decent race at Haydock two weeks ago, won by Ballybolley, but he had previously run out a good 10-length scorer at Catterick in this grade.

Raktiman has gone well in the past at the Lincolnshire venue, including a victory in a handicap hurdle.

And with conditions unlikely to be much of a problem, this trip is within his compass.

Midnight Chorister returned from a three-month lay-off to win at Southwell three weeks ago.

With that recent success under his belt, the Alex Hales-trained eight-yearold should be hard to beat in the Join The racing UK Club Handicap Chase - despite being put up 6lb.

Universal Soldier ought to go very well indeed in the totetrifecta Handicap Chase at Ffos Las.

Trained in Pembrokeshire by the capable Peter Bowen, the 11-yearold cashed in on a falling handicap mark at Haydock a fortnight ago when he eased 20 lengths clear in a decent race.

That was only Universal Soldier’s second start for Bowen, who is clearly getting to grips with a horse who is not devoid of talent but can be frustrating.

It was nothing but plainsailing at Haydock, though, and even though he has been thumped by the assessor, there are still races to be won with him off his revised mark.

Harry Fry’s Overtown Express looks the one in the Bet toteplacepot Novices’ Hurdle.
