Thompson is a double winner

Seaham’s Davey Thompson put daylight between himself and the chasing pack during week 22 in the Knack Premier Darts League as he came away with two hard fought wins.

First up for Thompson was Rob McCluskey, who he beat 5-3 then he defeated Spiller Henderson.

Henderson was a comfortabl­e 5-0 winner over Alan Smith in his other game of the night.

Will Neave lost momentum and fell down the table a few places after he was beaten 5-3 by an impressive display from Philly Dunn.

Neave was then taken to the cleaners by a refreshed

Neil Rose who dismantled him 5-1.

Dougie Hall picked up four out of a possible six points on offer, first he beat Neil Richardson 5-0 then shared the spoils with Alan Smith.

Paul Williams continued his assault on the top two with two excellent wins, first he beat Grahame Mullen 5-2, then gave Andrew Ambler a lesson in darts as he thumped him 5-1.

Ambler shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw with Neil Richardson in his other game of the night.

Ryan Joyce put on a scoring masterclas­st, in his first game he beat Matthew Hodgson 5-1 then followed that with a 5-0 win over David Brown.

League leader Dave Prins wasn’t to be outdone as he beat Graeme Hills 5-0 then beat Geordie Morton 5-3.

Morton shared the spoils in his other game of the night against Felling’s Paul McGowan.

McGowan was a comfortabl­e 5-1 winner in his other game of the night against Matthew Hodgson.

Lee Walton beatChris Wood 5-3.
