£10m Mason happy to sign for Hull

Hull City have bolstered their squad with three signings, including two men who were linked with Sunderland this summer.

Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has joined a club-record, undisclose­d fee, while caretaker boss Mike Phelan has also bought Manchester United striker Will Keane.

Cardiff and Scotland keeperDavi­dMarshallc­ompleted the treble swoop.

Mason, 25, who has won one cap for England, has signed a three-year deal for around £10m. He said: “I can’t wait to get started and I see this as a massive opportunit­y for me. I’m delighted and excited to be here.”

The fee for Keane, 23, is also undisclose­d, but reported to be £1m.

Swansea City have completed the signing of Barnsley defender Alfie Mawson on a four-year contract.

The 22-year-old moved to the Tykes from Brentford last year, and had also been linked with Sunderland. He said: “I am here to improve as a player and a person.

“It’s great to have been purchased by such a big club and a club I feel is very suited to me. I am just looking forward to getting going now.”

Chelsea striker Loic Remy has joined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan to team up with £32m capture Christian Benteke.

Chelsea have also let striker Patrick Bamford and Brazilian utilty man Kenedy leaves on loan for the season, to Burnley and Watford respective­ly.

Watford have re-signed free agent defender Adrian Mariappa on a three-year deal following his release by Crystal Palace.

Ipswich Town have signed Leicester and Wales forward Tom Lawrence on a season-long loan and former Newcastle striker Leon Best on a one-year deal. Boss Mick McCarthy said: “He’s got that physical presence and will add to the options we have got up front.”

Sheffield United have landed ex-Sheffield Wednesday striker Caolan Lavery for an undisclose­d compensati­on fee.
