Get practising your dance moves – Steps are back.

It’s been announced that the 90s group will be releasing a new album and an arena tour, with a date at Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena on November 20.

It will be somewhat of a home turf date for Faye Tozer, who now lives in West Boldon with her Sunderlandborn husband Michael Smith and their son Benjamin.

She was last on the North East stage at Christmas when she won rave reviews for her appearance as the Good Fairy in Sleeping Beauty at the Sunderland Empire.

New single Scared Of The Dark premieres later this week and will be released on Friday, ahead of the new album Tears On The Dancefloor, out Friday, April 21.

It will be the band’s first full album of material since 2000 and features tracks from songwriters who’ve worked with the likes of Calvin Harris, Britney Spears, Little Mix and Jess Glynne.

The band, who were last on stage at Metro Radio Arena five years ago, said: “This is the album we think our fans have been waiting for. It was very important for us to have a hint of the past but to try to blend it into modernday music. We think Steps are a little bit of what everyone needs right now.”

The Party On The Dancefloor Tour kicks off in Dublin on November 13 and hits 13 cities across the UK and Ireland, including stops at London’s legendary Wembley Arena and The O2.

Tickets for Steps at Metro Radio Arena, costing from £32.50, go on sale at 9am on Friday, and are available online, from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666 or from 10am in person from the Metro Radio Arena Box Office.
