Joyce powers past Williams
Ryan Joyce was in sensational form in the Knack Premier Darts league as he pushed himself further ahead at the top of the table.
He was level with Paul ‘The Jug’ Williams at 2-2 before powering away to win 5-2.
In one leg, he was seven darts into a nine-darter before wiring treble 19.
Joyce hit four 180s without reply from Williams and had winning legs of 11, 12, 14, 18 and 20 darts as he recorded a 33.40 match average.
He then went on to beat a helpless Graham Mullen 5-1, with a match average of 32.12.
Dave Prins took full advantage of Williams’ slip-up and jumped into second place after claiming all six points on offer, beating Alan Smith 5-0 (match average 28.47) and then Neil Rose 5-2, who will be rueing missed doubles galore.
Tony Wood hasn’t taken long to settle into the league, beating Dougie Hall 5-1, with best legs of 17, 18, 19 and 20 darts.
He followed up with another comfortable 5-1 win over Ross Guy before facing Davy ‘The Face’ Richardson.
The pair had to settle for a point each as Wood hit best legs of 16, 17 and 19 darts, with Richardson’s legs coming in 14, 17 and a brace of 18 darters as well as a 102 finish.
Davey Thompson picked up maximum points without dropping a leg as he beat a struggling Rob McCluskey and Anth Skelton 5-0 with two confident displays.
Darren Patton failed to pick up a point during week 10 as he was thumped 5-1 by Eddie Ashman and 5-2 by Allen George.
George was a comfortable 5-0 winner in his first game of the night against Andrew Ambler with a 29.47 average.
Graeme Hills had a successful night as he walloped Anthony Gale 5-1 in his first game and then pulled off a 5-3 win against Chris Vaughan.
