GCSE AND A-LEVEL EXAMINATION RESULTS

We are delighted with the achievement of our Year 11 GCSE students in the 2017 summer GCSE exams.

We are celebrating the achievements of all students at all ability levels and are extremely proud of how well they have achieved especially sitting the tougher reformed GCSE’s in English and Maths.

We would like highlight that it is not possible to compare this year’s results with previous years due to significant changes to the exams and accountability measures.

However, we are pleased to report that our students have again excelled in a range of aspects of the Government’s league tables including English and Maths with 65% of our students achieving the new 9-4 grades (equivalent to A*-C in the old measures) in both these subjects.

Somesignificantperformances at full GCSE are worthy of special praise, they include four students who achieved the highest grade of a 9 in the reformed English and Maths GCSE’s. They are Daniel Eddy who achieved a grade 9 in his Maths, along with 6 A*s, an 8 in English Language and a 7 in English Literature.

Chloe Dickinson who achieved a grade 9 in English Language, an 8 in both Maths and English Literature as well as 7A*s.

Tam Forrester who gained a grade 9 in Maths, 5A*s and a 7 in English Literature. Ryan Kelly achieved a grade 9 in Maths, 2 A*s, 4 A’s, a B and a 7 in English Language and a 6 in English Literature.

Special praise should also be given to Charlotte Ramsay who achieved grade 8’s in both her English Language and Maths, along with 2 A*s, 3 A’s, 3B’s and a grade 6 in English Literature.

We wish students all the best in their future career decisions and we look forward to welcoming over 75% of them back in our Sixth Form.
