May shows resilience

-

I suppose I became a floating protest voter about half a century ago, when prime minister Harold Wilson departed to the Scilly Isles.

However, two politicians now seem noteworthy, showing great resilience and determination – May and Davis.

As they strive to implement the will of the British people, they are surrounded by those determined to thwart them from leading us out of the EU republic.

The EU Empress, Mrs Merkel, has a French front man who revels in the procedure enacted on our departure, which our politicians rubber stamped previously.

Monsieur’s mission is to ensure we remain a milch cow for as long as possible.

This is Euro common sense, look how rich the Kinnocks, Mandelsons, Brittans et al became on the gravy train.

One of the aspects that our politicians are finding it difficult to extract themselves from is the EU super road and rail plan to connect all Euro capitals.

We incurred a massive debt to build HSI, which included major infrastructure and makeover works to St Pancras railway station, a new electrified line from there to the M20 marshalling yard at Folkestone, new TGV rolling stock and the channel tunnel, now flogged off.

Still, we’ve got our new Wear bridge, a fine one too and worth the very long wait. Let us Mackems hope and pray Nissan decide to stay here. F Evans
