Of­sted bosses say pri­mary is con­tin­u­ing to be good

A pri­mary school has re­tained its rat­ing as good.

Of­sted in­spec­tors vis­ited East Boldon Ju­nior School for a short in­spec­tion and said there is no change to its good grade.

How­ever, the in­spec­tor said he iden­ti­fied some pri­or­i­ties for im­prove­ment, which he ad­vised the school to ad­dress.

The in­spec­tor said: “In light of these pri­or­i­ties, the school’s next in­spec­tion will be a full sec­tion 5 in­spec­tion.

“Since the pre­vi­ous in­spec­tion, the school has been ad­versely af­fected by a num­ber of changes in lead­er­ship.

“There have been three dif­fer­ent head­teach­ers in the last five years.”

How­ever, the in­spec­tor said un­der the cur­rent head­teacher the school has be­come more set­tled, there have been some good teach­ing ap­point­ments and staff ab­sence has de­clined.
