South Shields drivers who are looking for the perfect way to join the ever-increasing amount of motorists switching to an ‘electrified’ car will find the ideal solution at Vic Young – the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.

Available to test drive at the dealership on Newcastle Road, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV petrol/electric hybrid has been named as the UK’s most popular ‘plug-in’ vehicle for the fourth consecutive year, taking the title ever since its introduction in 2013. In 2017 it outsold all other pure electric and hybrid plug-in vehicles, accounting for 7,407 of the 47,263 plug-in passenger vehicles that were registered.

Over 36,000 examples of the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV are now on the UK’s roads and as Vic Young, Managing Director at Vic Young Mitsubishi, explained, it certainly strikes a chord with the dealership’s customers: “It’s one of our most popular vehicles and for good reason too, as there’s very little that can offer such an attractive combination of practicality, safety, style, durability and efficiency.

“With over 100,000 examples having now been sold across Europe, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has been a huge success and we invite customers to come and experience it for themselves to discover why it’s so popular.

“What’s more, with our latest PCP offers, which include a significant deposit contribution from Mitsubishi, now’s an excellent time to make the switch to a more efficient and environmentally-compatible vehicle.”

Making the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV the most ca- pable 4x4 hybrid around is a drivetrain consisting of two electric motors and a petrol combustion engine, which are coupled to Mitsubishi’s advanced S-AWC Super All Wheel Control four-wheel drive system.

It offers an all-electric range of 33 miles together with fuel economy of up to 166 mpg (combined) and CO2 emissions of only 41g/km.

A choice of six trim levels add to the model’s appeal and for those that need even more space, Mitsubishi is able to offer a dedicated, award-winning commercial version.

The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV range starts from £32,505 (including £2,500 Government Plug-in Car Grant).

To arrange a convenient test drive, and for further information, drivers can visit Vic Young on Newcastle Road or call 0191 427 1566.
