Charlie Wyke was yesterday ruled out for up to two months with the knee injury he suffered in a collision with Burton Albion goalkeeper Dimitar Evtimov at the weekend. The Sunderland striker had only just returned to the side after missing the start of the season with a different knee injury picked up in pre-season. Fans took to Twitter and commented on our story about Wyke’s absence. here’s a selection of their comments:

10 It’s tough at the top. To be honest, Wyke didn’t look match fit to me. Anyway it’s bad luck. We regroup and push on. The January window could be huge for us. Steady the ship until then and hope for two good signings or loans to push us for promotion – Ian Smith
