CHARLIE NETS THREE IN PORTERFIEL­D WIN

Sunderland City Juniors Porterfiel­d stormed to an 11-2 win against Whickham Fellside Whites in the preliminar­y round of the League Cup.

There was a hat-trick from Charlie Percival, two goals apiece for Jordan Duncan and Oliver O’Connor, and single strikes from Evan Oliver, Jack Bewick, Jakob Mylo Routledge and Max Hudson.

Durham County had goals from Ethan John Brown and Owen Conley), but they went down 3-2 to Whickham, whose scorers were Finn Davies (2) and Cruz Hall.

Inthepreli­minaryroun­dof the League Shield, Waldridge Park Bewick were 9-0 winners against Beamish Falcons with two goals apiece for Alex Hedley and Shane Osborne, with Euan Oakes, George Jackson, Joe Humphries and Robert Bourne also on target.

NSG Athletic Cobras beat Coxhoe United 4-3 thanks to doubles from Archie Dunn and Finn Nelson. Replies came from Finn Sawyer, Isaac Marr and Jake Adair.

Sunderland West End went down 6-4 to Bishop Juniors. In the preliminar­y round of the League Vase, Durham County Colts had a hat-trick from Thomas Rickaby to seal a 3-2 win against Durham United Tigers, whose marksmen were Harvey Smith and Jack Wilson.

Chester Town Whites enjoyed a 5-3 win against Boldon Colts Madrid with goals from Charlie Gamble (2), Daniel Burlison (2) and Logan Newton). Madrid’s scorers were Isaac Reid and Leighton Fontaine (2).

North East Sports Lions were 9-2 winners against Swalwell Juniors Swifts after a hat-trick from Ollie Pattison and other goals from Lucas Corner (2), Owen Hunt (2), Mitch Gettins and Tyler David McCain.

North East Sport Titan ran out 5-0 winners over Washington Tigers after a hat-trick from Christophe­r Baker and goals from Emmanuel Horsman-Elphick and Finlay Conlin.

Washington Juniors Orange had strikes from Archie Williamson, Benjamin Norton, Benjamin Ramsay, Cameron Swan, Jack McCallum, Joshua Adams and Owen Blakelock in a 7-2 win against Blackhall Monks.
