Defeat of The Victory moved Mill View top of the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League.

A break of 39 saw Howard Lax win the first frame beating Darren Dowell 69-43, before Norman Brown won the second frame beating Alan Hough 54-21.

John Spruce beat Bobby Smith 75-32 and Steve Chandler won the fourth frame against Ray James 87-28.

In the pairs, John Spruce/ Steve Chandler beat Billy James/Les Burnikell 62-23 to complete the whitewash.

South Hylton A started well against Pennywell Comrades A with Gary Bell’s first frame 24 seeing off Kevin Harrop, 65-32.

Dean Taylor levelled the match winning the second frame against Adam Smith 7441, before Joe Turner moved Pennywell into the lead winning the second frame against Graham Rutland 71-47.

Gavin Dixon levelled with a 54 in the fourth frame to win 83-42 before an excellent 76 break by Graham Rutland, when paired with Adam Smith, won Hylton the match beating Stuart Taylor/Dean Taylor 77-23 for the 3-2 win.

Gary Stockton got Seaham Conservati­ves A off to a winning start away to Pennywell Comrades B, winning the first frame 48-46 against John Campbell on the final black before Andrew Doran levelled, winning the second frame against Ian Hughes 6232.

Michael Monaghan moved Seaham back into the lead winning the third frame against Anthony Longstaff 59-20 before Les Pinder won the fourth frame against Eddie Dodds 56-29.

In the pairs, Ian Hughes/ Les Pinder won a close frame beating John Campbell/Anthony Longstaff 66-53 for the 4-1 win.

South Hylton B travelled to Steels and started well with Bobby Boyce winning the first frame 97-17 against Lee Norton, with the aid of a 43 clearance, and Ian Stewart winning the second frame 6641 against Ray Charlton Senior with the aid of 21 and 25 breaks.

John Harrison won the third frame against Ray Charlton Junior 56-46 before Tony Hazard won the fourth frame beating Jimmy Gales 47-36.

In the pairs, Tommy Feenan/Vince Flynn won Steels a consolatio­n point beating Bobby Boyce/Tony Hazard 62-48.

Lumley’s Neil Lowdon won first up against Seaham Conservati­ves B’s Manna Singh 54-34, the lead doubled when Andrew Drinkwater claimed a black ball second frame against Robin Midson, 53-52.

Brian Meuse and Roful Hoque made it 4-0, and Brian Meuse/Roful Hoque beat Colin Dobson/Tony Grimes in the pairs to complete the clean sweep.

In the club battle, Graham Smith of Biddick A won the first frame against Alan Brunton 68-39. Peter Mills levelled the match before John Temple moved Biddick B into the lead winning the third frame against Rod Turnbull 56-15.

David Adamson levelled, beating Tommy Rutter 4826, before teaming up with Rod Turnbull to win the pairs against Philip Straughan/Alan Brunton.

Boldon CA’s Joe Cromby beat Murton Officials’ Bobby Carne 78-48 with the aid of a 22 break.

Justin Ebdy had an excellent 57-55 result beating Graeme Ablett on the final black to level the match before Craig Barron moved Boldon back into the lead winning the third frame against Stephen Cook, 60-35.

Stephen Clementson again levelled the match beating John Smith 74-62, before Craig Barron/Graeme Ablett won a close pairs frame beating Stephen Cook/Justin Ebdy 69-59 for the 3-2 win.
