It’s Official, South Hylton ease to comfortabl­e win

South Hylton B clinched a stunning 5-0 victory over Murton Officials in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League.

Ian Stewart got South Hylton B off to a great start after beating John Caffrey, before Bobby Boyce won a close second frame against Bobby Carne.

John Harrison won the third frame, beating Justin Ebdy, before Tony Hazard won the fourth against Stephen Clementson.

In the pairs, Boyce/Hazard beat Clementson/ Carne 69-53 to complete the clean sweep.

Biddick B welcomed Seaham Conservati­ves A and got off to a good start with Peter Mills continuing his excellent form to win the first frame against Gary Stockton.

John Temple won the second frame before Michael Monaghan pulled one back for Seaham.

Les Pinder levelled the match, before teaming up with Paul Lauder to win the pairs, beating Mills/Temple on the final black 55-50 for the 3-2 win.

Stephen Thompson won an excellent first frame for South Hylton A, who were at home to Biddick A.

After laying an impressive 16 snookers which led to 12 fouls he potted an excellent long black to pinch the frame off Stephen Tate.

A 30 break helped Adam Smith win the second frame, before a 36 break helped Graham Rutland win the third frame, beating Rod Turnbull.

A 36 break by Gavin Dixon saw him win the fourth frame against David Adamson, before a 37 break by Smith, when paired with Rutland, helped win Hylton the pairs, beating David Adamson/Tate 64-34 to complete the whitewash.

Pennywell Comrades B got off to a good start at home to Lumley with Anthony Longstaff winning a close first frame against Andrew Drinkwater.

Roful Hoque quickly levelled the match, before a 20 break helped Neil Lowdon move Lumley into the lead whenbeatin­gAaronDunc­an.

Brian Meuse increased the lead, potting well to beat Eddie Dodds, before Andrew Doran/Dodds won the pairs beating Meuse/Lowdon 6354 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Glendale welcomed Pennywell Comrades A and started well with Thomas Gwyn winning the first frame against Kevin Harrop 67-28 and John Danby winning the second frame against Joe Turner 84-35.

Dean Taylor pulled one back for Pennywell, before Paul Atkinson won the fourth frame against Stuart Taylor.

In the pairs, Paul Atkinson/Frank McParlin beat Harrop/Steve O’Wellen 5516 for the 4-1 win.

Boldon CA travelled to The Victory and got off to the perfect start with Joe Cromby winning the first frame against Bobby Smith, before Graeme Ablett increased the lead winning the second frame against Darren Dowell.

Michael Grieveson won a close third frame against Alan Hough on the final black 51-49, before Ray James had an excellent result beating John Smith 69-44 to pull one back for The Victory.

In the pairs, Grieveson/ Smith won another close frame beating James/Darren Dowell 63-56 for the 4-1 win.

Sadly, the match between Seaham Conservati­ves B and Steels was postponed due to a shortage of players by Seaham.
