-

The Queen Vic moved to the top of the second division for the first this season with a good 4-2 win over Park View.

Appleby, Stavers, Warne and a customary Paul Muir goal earned them top spot, with Jordan Southern grabbing a double for his employers.

Ryhope gave the Grange quite a shock as they turned up all guns blazing and claimed their scalp with an easy 5-1 win.

Adam Cushingham bagged two blinding efforts and Robbie Middlebrook also found the net. Hounslow slotted home for the Grange but in the second period Matty Frost equalled his strikers’ feat and score twice himself.

Star man Liam Goldsmith scored a beauty for Redhouse but the Victory Club were not fazed and won the game with goals from Head and Cooke.

Ryhope’s Dan Clarke had the best game of his career and earned star man award to help his side earn a point against free-scoring Kings Arms.

Ryhope could have claimed all of the points but for the impressive Anth Gair in the Kingsmen goal.

Another hard-fought win for the Board Inn saw them slowly move up the table into third spot as they beat Washington New Tavern 5-1.

Anth Mould, Cummings and James Knight added to Brooke’s goals before Tench hit a solitary strike for Washington.

Myers are desperate for a league win as they sit in the relegation spot after another defeat - losing 3-2 to Washington Athletic.

The Lakeside continued to stake a claim in Division Three after winning another game to better last season’s total wins.

They beat Grindon Broadway 6-3 with goals from Thompson (3), Lewis Murton and a double from Iain Usher.

Broadway had their own hat-trick hero in John Williams but even his hat-trick couldn’t do anything for his team.

Oddies latest win - 4-1 at Millview CIU - increased their points total as they sit at the top of the third division.

Paul Webster scored twice, with Anth Yates and Paul Maw also on target - with that man again Richie Timm having a hand a hand in all of the goals.

Hagan replied with a late volley for Millview.

A poor Wear United showing let Penshaw CC nip a 1-0 win courtesy of star man Jonny Snelling. Stu Bowman was excellent for United between the sticks.

Washington Blue Bell won a mid-table clash against Millfield Free Gardeners 3-1 to move up the table.

Dan Brown didn’t help matters the Gardeners when he saw red and the Blue Bell took the lead from Clarke before Smith and Gallagher sealed the points.

Millfield side responded with a Currie strike.

Sunderland North earned their first point of season as they played out a dire 1-1 draw against Witherwack. North had Judson find the net but Witherwack had John Harper rescue something from the game.

It was goals galore in the fourth division Washington derby as the Duke come out on top 7-4 against North Biddick.

The Duke had Stephenson score a hat-trick, with Huggins, Smith and Smith also scoring. The replies came from Jack Smyth (2), Wilkinson and Sam Lynn.

Brad Allan scored in each half to secure Velocity’s third win in the league, beating The Burton House 3-1.

United had Lewis Robinson reduce the deficit but a breakaway goal from Joe Proudlock made sure of the win for Velocity.

A player from each side was sent off as Washington Cherry Tree edged Whitburn Panthers 4-3.

Shaun White found the net three times for the Cherries before the Panthers hit back through a double from Malarky and a Ryan Chalk goal, but the Cherries won it late in stoppage time through Foston.

Ashbrooke Rosedene taught league leaders Hall Farm Doxy Lad a lesson as they secured a 4-1 win.

It was Hall Farm’s second league defeat as secondplaced Ashbrooke made up ground with their three points.

Helens, Hope-Hindmarsh, Brown and Jordan Ridley put The Doxy Lad to the sword, with Glenwright scoring a late consolation.
