Sunderland Echo - - Retro -

Ferguson’s Transport was hauling its way to success in Sunderland. And the company was being helped on the way by a new contract from Nissan.

The company moved into Sunderland three years ago, when they took over Clark’s Haulage which was based at Woodvine Terrace, in Hendon.

Now, with business well and truly growing, the transport firm has just opened a new depot in the Castletown area.

At a special function to mark the opening, vintage cars were paraded and guests from ports, companies and Sunderland Borough Council were present.

The company has a total fleet of 100 vehicles, mainly articulated lorries, split between Wearside and Blyth.

The Nissan order is for the transport of items, brought in to Teesport and Avonmouth from Japan to the Washington complex.
