QUEEN VIC MAKE THE SEMIS

The Queen Vic ascended to the Billy Pemberton Memorial Cup semi-finals with an 8-1 demolition of The Board Inn.

Paul Muir hit a brace before star man Glen Hargrave scored with a brilliant effort.

The Vic made sure of the win with further efforts from Stoker, Stavers, Holyoak, Summerside and Dickens, Trotter replying.

In the Premier Division, The Lansdowne earned a hard-fought 3-1 victory at Redhouse Last Orders.

Andy Smith and Reece Noble put the visitors ahead, Connor O’Neill reduced the deficit, but Owen Smith sealed Lansdowne’s win.

Ryhope Forresters won 3-0 at home to New Town, star man Kieran Davies with a double, Dale Spence adding a third.

And Southwick shared a 3-3 draw with Hylton Castle TWR.

Callum Hope scored twice and Adam Drysdale hit one for Hylton, but Forster and Fairley kept Southwick interested before Southwick legend-in-the-making John Butler grabbed a point.

In the First Division, The Stackyard sit top of the league after a 6-0 win over relegation favourites Ashbrooke Hendon.

Farquhar (2), Hodgson, McDermott, Norton and Brad Wilson put the away side to the sword and things got worse for Hendon as Bri Carter saw red against his old team.

Thorney Close Inn heaped more pressure on The Stella with a 5-2 win to keep them near the bottom of the table.

Goals from Steel, Collins, Jones and two from Forrest saw Thorney win.

Washington Sky Lounge knocked a shellshock­ed Pennywell Comrades off top spot with a 7-2 win at home.

A hat-trick from McCartney, a double from Martin Thompson followed by Dixon and Danks saw off the Comrades.

Ord and Scullion replied for Pennywell.

Following suit, Grange Park also registered a 7-2 victory,againstWea­rmouthCW, whose poor display allowed Grange Park to run riot in this local derby.

Catcheside earned the man-of-the-match award with two goals and a number of assists, and Shaun Conlon matched that with a double of his own.

Wearmouth scored two quick goals but Grange Park scored again through Thubron, Tansey and Crighton.
