Dog rescued after cliff fall
It was a happy ending for a lucky dog who was rescued by firefighters after a cliff fall in Sunderland.
Crews were called to help thedogwhichhadfallendown a cliff in Ryhopeyesterday.
Specialist rope rescue crews from South Shields and Hebburn and one engine from Sunderland Central arrived on scene at 12.37pm to help the dog, which had fallen down the cliff opposite Sea View Road.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the dog was rescued and safely returned to its owner uninjured.
Crews left the scene around 2pm.
