Pull together – really?

-

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and will go on to have a prosperous New Year.

This Christmas I did something I can’t recall ever doing, I had no option but to sit through the Queen’s speech.

We were at a friend’s house, David Lav, and he loves all that royal stuff.

I thought it best to keep quiet, it’s his house so let’s get it over and done with.

I must admit I never heard much of what the Queen said at the start, I was too busy gawping at her front room.

She certainly didn’t get her furnishings from Dunelm.

This is our hereditary monarch, who claims millions a year in benefits from the taxpayer, not counting the millions spent on royal protection.

She sat there in front of a golden piano having the brass neck to tell the country we all have to pull together.

I nearly choked on my pheasant. Ged Taylor
