Manchester City Under21s sealed progress to the Checkatrade Trophy fourth round with a 4-2 win at Rochdale.

Jim McNulty put the hosts ahead after four minutes with a header, before Magnus Norman saved a Taylor Richards penalty.

The lead was then doubled when Stephen Dooley scored shortly before the half hour.

Luke Bolton and Jayden Braaf got City back on level terms, before Braaf and Richards scored in the final 10 minutes to seal the win for the City youngsters.

Bury sealed their place in the last eight by also coming from two down, to beat Accrington Stanley 4-2.

Jordan Clark and Billy Kee were on target as the Reds raced into a two-goal lead inside 38 minutes in front of the home fans.

However, League Two side Bury were clinical in the second half.

Dominic Telford fired home on 55 minutes, and they were level two minutes later when a shot was blocked and sub Nicky Maynard powered the ball home.

Bury went ahead on 75 minutes when Telford scored his second of the game, and then Danny Mayor made it safe on 84 minutes with a strike from the outside of the area.

Portsmouth eased through with a 2-0 win at Southend.
