Ramsbury set to make it a double

-

Ramsbury looks a nice type for Charlie Fellowes and can remain unbeaten in the 32Red Casino Novice Stakes at Kempton.

Sporting the Anthony Oppenheimer colours carried with great distinction by Golden Horn and Cracksman in recent years, he was sent off a short-priced favourite on his debut at Wolverhampton.

Ridden with a great deal of confidence by Stevie Donohoe, he was an easy winner and while it is sometimes difficult to know what all-weather form is worth, the second won a maiden by five lengths next time out, as did the third.

He has obviously needed time - he was gelded early on and did not make his debut until he was nearly four - but there is no doubt he could be quite a force for Fellowes.

The step up to a mile should suit Tamerlane who is in search of a hat-trick in the 32Red Casino Handicap.

Clive Cox’s charge started his progression from a lowly rating, but he is getting the hang of it now.

Two wins have come over seven furlongs, from marks of 59 and 65, but it looked like there was more to come as he got on top close home.
