GLORY OF PARIS TO KEEP UP GOOD WORK

-

Glory Of Paris can continue his recent spell of good form with victory in the Follow Top Tipster Templegate At SunRacing Handicap at Newcastle tomorrow.

The five-year-old was running well for Rod Millman last October, before changing hands for 20,000 guineas and joining Michael Appleby’s team.

He immediately gave his new connections some return on their investment, edged into second on his initial outing before hitting the target at Chelmsford on his second start for Appleby.

Glory Of Paris has since hit the frame again twice, most recently when third at this track last week.

The Sir Prancealot gelding reared as the stalls opened that day - and after making up lost lengths, he took a keen hold to get back in front and paid for those exertions in the finish.

Glory Of Paris clearly had nothing go his way that day, and is worth another try here.

Roaring Rory struck gold at this track in November, and can make it a course double in the Betway Casino Handicap.

Scoring over six furlongs for the first time that day, he won what was only an average race, but this event is little better - and a 1lb rise should prove no bar to success.

Vrai is an intriguing recruit for Kevin Ryan, and worth following on her second British start in the Ladbrokes Handicap.

She failed to win any of her six French outings but caught the eye on her first run on these shores when finishing third over six furlongs.

Vrai was putting in all her best work at the finish, so it makes sense for Ryan to try her over seven furlongs now - and she is definitely one for the short list.

Unioniste may now be an 11-year-old, but he can still put up a good show in the Healthy Pets Somerset National Handicap Chase at Wincanton.

Rated 159 in his pomp, Unioniste has fallen down the order a bit in recent seasons - largely plying his trade in hunter chases for owner-rider David Maxwell.

He was far from disgraced in the Foxhunters’ at Aintree last year but looks far more suited to trips in excess of three miles now, and this staying event could be a good opportunity on his return from a break.

Molly Carew can build on a useful start over fences in the Healthy Pets Chase.

She was beaten four lengths into second at Sandown after being hampered at the first, with the form taking a significant boost when third-placed Glen Rocco strolled home at Kempton last weekend.

A 4lb rise for that effort in Esher could prove generous.

Dalila Du Seuil can take the next step up the ladder in Ludlow’s EBF/Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association Mares’ Novices’ Chase.

A winner at Listed level and fourth in Grade One company over hurdles in her native France, she cost owner JP McManus 210,000 euros at the end of 2017.

Trainer Harry Fry took his time getting her to the track, but the wait proved worth it when she made a victorious debut at Exeter.

She was a slightly fortunate victor, but we should learn plenty more here.

Shantou Flyer is all over the pick in the Chase Meredith Memorial Trophy Open Hunters’ Chase.
