Ryan’s healthy advice

- By Richard Ord

Today we report that Wearside dad-of-three Ryan Turley is almost half the man he used to be – but he’s feeling so much better.

In August 2017, Ryan tipped the scales at 22st 13lbs – but after having to go into hospital for surgery to remove kidney stones, he immediately started on a mission to get fitter with amazing results.

Over the past 18 months he has ditched takeaways such as kebabs, Chinese and pizzas as well as his “downfall”, which were crisps and fizzy drinks, in favour of lowfat meals while also getting outside to play football regularly and go on walks.

And he is now down to 14st 3lbs, just 3lbs from his final target of to 14st.

And the super slimmer says he is definitely feeling the benefit.

“I don’t just sit and do nothing like I did before and a lot of people I know say I’m half the man I used to be, which I suppose I really am.”

Inspirational Ryan also has wise words for wouldbe slimmers.

“My advice to anyone wanting to lose weight is just to make a start,” said Ryan.

“Once you lost that first pound, you realise you can do it. There’s no reason you can’t.

“You don’t need to join an expensive gym, you can just go out for a walk to get started.”

And he wisely stressed that changing diet to lose weight has to be accom panied by a change of lifestyle.

“It’s not just losing weight though, you need to change your whole lifestyle. You have to change everything,” said the slim-size dad.

Well done to Ryan for his super slimming effort, and hopefully he will inspire other overweight Wearsiders to change their lives for the better.
