Susan hoping to hit the heights

-

A Wearside teenager could be on her way to television stardom after being shortlisted to present a new show.

Susan Mews was put through her paces by a BBC crew when she was asked to tackle a couple of challenges at Crowtree Leisure Centre.

The Washington teenager’s first task was to scale the centre’s imposing climbing wall and then interview her instructor.

Then she hit the ice, joining three local youngsters to improvise a skating routine.

Susan’s potential as a possible presenter for the BBC science programme was spotted through her efforts with the corporation’s Newsround Press Pack scheme, which gives youngsters the chance to report for the children’s teatime new show.
