fter 10 years of showcasing some of the region’s leading music artists, Generator’s Evolution Emerging Festival is set to re-launch this year under a new name and a revamped outlook.

Taking place on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22, the celebrated event, which has previously paved the way for many of the region’s breakthrou­gh artists, will now be known as Tipping Point Live.

Organisers have confirmed that the event will remain in its original home of the Ouseburn Valley in Newcastle, however, in a move to expand the festival offering it will now take place across two days with a full programme of live music, music industry masterclas­ses and conversati­ons, film screenings, food offers and family-focused events for music lovers with young children.

As usual all North East-based emerging artists are invited to apply to play the festival, but this year successful artists will be chosen by a panel of highprofil­e industry curators.

Tipping point will welcome applicatio­ns from original bands, musical artists, producers and songwriter­s working in the following genres: electronic, alternativ­e, rock and alternativ­e rock, jazz, folk, urban and pop.
