Hazard, Stewart, Boyce and Harrison ease Hylton to win

League leaders South Hylton B continued their march towards the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League title with a 4-1 win away at The Victory.

Tony Hazard, Ian Stewart and Bobby Boyce put Hylton in a commanding position before John Harrison potted well to win the fourth frame against Ray James 60-19.

In the pairs, Darren Dowell/Ray James won The Victory a consolatio­n point when beating Boyce/Harrison 6434 and reduce the defeat to 4-1.

Michael Monaghan got Seaham Conservati­ves A off to a good start at home to South Hylton A, before a 38 break helped Steven Thompson level the match.

Adam Smith started the third frame strongly with a 44 break, only for Ian Hughes to comeback and pot and excellent final pink and black to pinch the frame 75-68.

A 21 break and a 42 clearance saw Graham Rutland level the match, before Gary Stockton/Les Pinder won Seaham the match beating Smith/ Thompson 85-49 for the 3-2 win.

Lumley welcomed Biddick B and started well with Neil Lowdon winning the first frame against Peter Mills.

John Temple continued his good form to level the match when he beat Roful Hoque 5528.

Sean Henderson moved Lumley back into the lead winning a close third frame against Tommy Rutter 61-52, before a 37 break helped Brian Meuse increase Lumley’s lead.

In the pairs, Peter Mills/ Temple beat Meuse/Lowdon 61-52 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Pennywell Comrades A started well away to Mill View with Kevin Harrop winning the first frame against Norman Brown 69-32 and Joe Turner winning the second against Howard Lax 66-36.

Dean Taylor potted well to win the third frame, beating John Spruce 51-38, before Stuart Taylor won the fourth frame beating Steve Chandler 88-26.

In the pairs, Dean Taylor/ Joe Turner beat Steve Chandler/Spruce 64-34 to complete the whitewash.

Tommy Ayre got Steels off to a good start at home to Murton Officials winning the first frame against Bobby Carne 5840 before Stephen Clementson levelled the match.

Ray Charlton Junior moved Steels back into the lead winning the third frame against Stephen Cook 67-41, before Jimmy Gales won the fourth frame beating Justin Ebdy 71-29.

In the pairs, Cook/Ebdy reduced the defeat beating Vince Flynn/Tommy Ayre 6729 to make the final score 3-2 to Steels.

Pennywell Comrades B welcomed Seaham Conservati­ves B and started well with Andrew Doran winning the first frame against Tony Grimes, with the aid of a 23 and 24 break.

Harland Davidson levelled the match winning a black ball second frame against John Campbell 59-55.

A 21 break helped Anthony Longstaff move Pennywell back into the lead.

A 22 break helped Eddie Dodds increase Pennywell’s lead winning the fourth frame against Robin Midson 59-35.

In the pairs, a 25 break by Campbell, when paired with Doran, helped win the frame beating Doug Scott/Robin Midson 51-16 for the 4-1 win.

The match between Biddick A and Glendale was expected to be close and the singles alternated into a 2-2 situation, before Biddick took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.
