Join the Mayor for Christmas Carols

-

This year’s Civic Christmas Carol Service with Coun David Snowdon will take place at Sunderland Minster on Sunday, December 8.

The service begins at 6pm with the Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor David Snowdon and Councillor Dianne Snowdon.

They will be joined in the congregation by the Lord Lieutenant of Tyne and Wear, Mrs Susan Winfield OBE; the Leader of Sunderland City Council, Councillor Graeme Miller and the Chief Executive, Patrick Melia.

Representatives from the Mayor’s Charities Washington MIND and Veterans in Crisis will also be in attendance and the Christmas Carols will be provided by the Sunderland Minster Choir.

The Mayor of Sunderland, Cllr Snowdon said: "I'd like to invite everyone to come along and join us at Sunderland Minster, for this year’s Civic Christmas Carol Service.

"This is a wonderful time of year where we should all make time to gather with loved ones and the community to celebrate everything that makes our lives together so special.

"As Mayor and Mayoress we've been honoured to represent the people of our city at some amazing events this year, and we are both looking forward to the carol service, another highlight in the civic calendar.

"Christmas is a time to remember all those less fortunate than ourselves, I hope people will be generous and donate to the Mayoral charities who do so much throughout the year to help in our community."

If you are interested, confirm your attendance by Friday, November 29, by ringing 0191 561 1330 or by emailing, mayor@sunderland.gov.uk
