In a new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) advert, Sunderland’s Charlotte Crosby can be seen trapped in a waterfilled tank.
The Just Tattoo of Us presenter who is best known for appearingintheMTV series Geordie Shore, has raised her concerns about confining natural marinemammalsinsuchtanks.
Working with the animal rights organisation, Charlotte spoke about how the 2013 documentary Blackfish influenced the way she feels about SeaWorld.
She said: "I would feel so claustrophobicbeinginsuch a small space.
“Youwouldstarttogoalittlebitinsane. You’rejustlooking at the same place every single day and it’s not right. It’s not normal.
“Obviously, it's massively cruel, and I just want everyone to know that.
“When people are educated on that, it may change their minds to ever stepping in a park again." In the advert, Charlotte can be seen wearing a t-shirt reading ‘SeaWorld sucks.’
She wore a black and white swimsuit as she posed under the water in a tank. In the wild, orcas and bottlenose dolphins are known to swim up to 140 miles and 60 miles per day and can travel around 300 metres below the ocean's surface.
A spokesperson for PETA said: “At SeaWorld's parks, 140 dolphins are squeezed into just seven small tanks andcan'tescapeattacksfrom other frustrated, aggressive dolphins.”
