Pacifica Group switched on to growth plan

A Wearside-based domestic energy and appliance services provider has reported strong growth and a positive jobs outlook.

Pacifica Group – which has its headquarte­rs in Houghton le Spring – achieved turnover of £41m for its financial year, up from£36m, and is forecastin­gcontinued growth in its current financial year.

It employs 470 people and is aiming for more than 500.

Further recruitmen­t is planned next year beginning with the expansion of its team of 250 directly employed engineers, which are based across the country, and a further 50 home services and appliance engineers.

Pacifica Group comprises of Pacifica Home Services,

Pacifica Appliance Services, which include flag ship brands, 0800 Repair Gas and 0800 Repair, alongside its UK Warranty division.

Working closely with manufactur­ers such Electro lux, Sony, Hi sense, Vest el, How dens (Lamona) and LG and retailers, such as Argos and Shop Direct, Pacific a completes more than 4,500 repairs a week.

Kevin Brown, CEO, said: “This has been a strong period of growth for Pacific a Group as we increase our presence in the home energy services and appliancer­epair sectors. We have secured a number of significan­t contracts and contract renewals, which have bolstered the group’s performanc­e and are supported by our continued expansion in the housing sector providing services such as central heating installati­ons and renewable energy solutions to the new build and social housing markets.

“We expect these activities to generate further growth in our current financial year and to meet the increasing demand for our services we are planning to recruit additional engineers.”
