-

Hetton New Inn gave Crook Town Rangers a scare in the Third Division of the Swinburne Maddison Solicitors Durham Sunday League, before losing 6-3.

Crook found themselves 4-1 up at half-time, but Hetton came out the better side in the second half and reduced the deficit.

Aydan Bowers’ brace killed Hetton’s fightback, though they did manage further consolation. Esh Winning Cricket Club won 3-2 at Hetton Social RAR despite having a man sent off after only 10 minutes and losing another to injury shortly after.

The game opened up after half-time, with Esh coming from behind twice. Aaron Jordan and Carl Kenny put RAR in front, two goals from Adam Ledger levelling the score.

Esh then managed to grab the winner in the last couple of minutes with a fine strike from John Jones.

Kirk Merrington Half Moon won 4-0 at home to Bowburn FC, all of the goals coming in the first half and Bowburn well beaten on the day by a better organised KM team.

Sedgefield Corner House were visitors to the Emirates Riverside to play Sheriff ’s Hill Three Tuns.

In a very co mfortable game for the Tuns, they took a 3-1 lead into half time with first-half goals from Brian Allen, David Hawkins and David Donnelly.

In the second half, the goals kept coming, Allen netting a second-half hat-trick – four in total – followed by goals from Chris Kelly, Connor Grieveson and Warren Scott.

Bradley Sharp and Jack

Burrell were the Corner House marksmen.

The T unns scored a second not long after.

Chilton Lodge pulled one back just before the break through Andrew Bowes.

West Auckland got another two midway through the second half before Iain Macpherson pulled one back from the penalty spot.

West Auckland got their fifth and final goal of the game minutes from the final whistle as their player found the top bin from just outside the box.

A controlled performance from Chilton Lodge against a side on the up, but a 5-2 defeat .
