The current Wearside League leaders will travel to Farringdon Detached for a Round Two tie and assistant manager Lee Bogan revealed just how much the club want to retain the cup this season.

He told The Echo: “We will travel with new signing Lee Westgarth set to make his first start against his former club.

“Peter Crawford is still suspended for the game, but Paul Griffiths returns in goal.

“We are passionate about defending this trophy because it means a lot to us and we also want to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat at Darlington Town.”

Hebburn Town Reserves are assessing the fitness of a number of key players ahead of their MonkwearHorden mouth Charity Cup Round Two tie against Richmond Town at the Energy Check Sports Ground.

And Annfield Plain defender Nathan Convery will sit out their Alan Hood Charity Cup Second Round tie against Durham United.

The 21-year-old will serve the first game of a threematch suspension after he was shown a red card in the 4-1 defeat at Windscale earlier this month.

In the Wearside League, Boldon CA could hand debuts to new signings Matthew Donnelly and Jude Taylor when they travel to title challengers Darlington Town and West Auckland Tunns are hoping to complete a “surprise signing” ahead of their visit to bottom of the table Coxhoe Athletic.

Their hosts are awaiting news on the fitness of Craig Ellison, Jordan Gibson and Graham Stephenson.
