Whitburn’s Nadine Shah to appear at festival

Royal Blood, Blossoms, Fontaines D.C. and Whitburn’s own Nadine Shah have been announced for this year’s This is Tomorrow festival in Newcastle.

Organisers have unveiled the Friday night line-up for this year’s event.

It’s been confirmed that English rock duo Royal Blood, Irish post-punk sensations Fontaines D.C. and indie-pop band Blossoms will all perform at This is Tomorrow Festival 2020 on Friday, May 22 at Exhibition Park, Newcastle.

Day tickets for the Friday instalment­will go on sale this Friday, January 31 at 9 am, with weekend tickets for the festival already on sale.

The acts join an already stellar weekend line up for the festival with heavyweigh­t names such as the Scottish arena filler Gerry Cinnamon, Sam Fender, The Kooks and South Tyneside singer-songwriter Nadine Shah already confirmed.

To date, Royal Blood have unleashed two albums to global critical acclaim, 2014's self-titled album Royal Blood and How Did We Get So Dark? in 2017.

Their hits include Come On Over, Little Monster and I Only Lie When I Love You.

Blossoms will also take to the main stage at Exhibition Park. Their tracks include Charlemagn­e and Your Girlfriend.

Also taking a prime spot on the Friday line-up are Fontaines D.C.

The band's debut album Dogrel topped album of the year lists for 2019 courtesy BBC 6 Music and the legendary UK record label, Rough Trade.
