Cashback apps to earn while you shop

-

If your bank balance still hasn’t recovered from the excesses of the festive season, then it’s time to look at how you can make the most of what money you do have. And one of the best ways of doing that is to download a cashback app (or several) to your phone – that way, you can earn as you shop, or get vouchers for free products. Here are our five top choices:

visit your favourite online retailers via Quidco and shop as normal, then when you make a purchase, your account will be credited with your cashback amount. With more than 4,500 top brands taking part, it can mount up quite quickly. You can then choose to transfer your credit to your bank account, PayPal account or have it paid as an Amazon gift card.

with this app, you browse the current offers in your chosen supermarket, then when you buy the featured products, you snap a pic of your receipt, scan the barcodes and your account will be credited with your cashback amount within 48 hours. You can also earn credit by shopping at online retailers too, and you can earn extra credit by referring friends to join the app too.

this app lets you earn cashback from more than 5,000 retailers in categories such as fashion, entertainment and leisure, electricals, telecoms and so on. You can even earn ‘free’ cashback by taking part in free trials or surveys. Although cashback amounts vary, from time to time they do 100% cashback deals, meaning you’re effectively getting paid to shop.

– with this app, you can earn cashback by shopping in store or online. Browse the products on offer, buy them and then snap your receipt and you’ll get your cashback paid into your bank account or via PayPal. When we checked the website, there were £144 worth of savings up for grabs through their live offers. Some are only valid for a few days though, so you need to be quick.

this app is slightly different from the others in that while you still earn cashback from shopping online at more than 2,500 retailers, it goes into a savings account for your child. You can invite other family members to take part too and boost your little one’s Child Trust Fund, bank or building society account, or to make it go even further, into a Junior ISA account offered by Kidstart.
