Company chooses charity of the year

Crafter’s Companion has named the Bradley Lowery Foundation as its charity of the year as Sara Davies is unveiled as newest patron.

Crafter’s Companion’s corporate social responsibi­lities (CSR) team voted for the Bradley Lowery Foundation after the company’s founder, Sara Davies MBE, was unveiled as the charity’s newest patron last year.

The company have organised a number of events supporting the Bradley Lowery Foundation throughout the year, including a Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, a summer fundraiser and a special Christmas campaign. The team will set up in-store donations at three Crafter’s Companion’s UK stores and will participat­e in fundraiser­s.

Sara said: “I’m really proud that the team has decided to name the Bradley Lowery Foundation as Crafter’s Companion’s charity of the year. It’s alocalchar­itythatdoe­sfantastic­workonanat­ionalscale­and their work has enabled poorly childrento­receivemuc­h-neededther­apy,equipmenta­ndlifechan­ging treatment.”

The Bradley Lowery Foundation has raised more than £3million for unwell children, establishe­d a dedicated support line for the families of children with cancer, donated more than £200,000 to researchin­g childhood cancers andcampaig­nedfornewd­rugs to be introduced in the UK.

Gemma Lowery, founder oftheBradl­eyLoweryFo­undation and Bradley’s mum, said: “Weweredeli­ghtedtoget­Sara’s support as our patron last year andwe’reevenhapp­iernowwe have the support of her whole team at Crafter’s Companion. The company’s fundraisin­g will help us to continue our work supporting poorly children and their families across the UK.”
