Hodgson heads leaders to another win in title bid

It was second against first as Woodhorn Lane took on leaders Seaham Harbour Cricket in a promotion battle in the Second Division and the table toppers continued their 100% record in 2020 with a 4-1 victory.

to follow for Seaham with midfielder Napier seeing red after 15 minutes. But despite being a man down, the visitors went on to dominate and were level by half-time as Turner netted from close range.

Turner went on to complete his hat-trick to claim the match ball and netted his fourth soon after to complete an outstandin­g team performanc­e by the leaders.

It was Hartlepool derby day on Saturday in Division Two and the two teams that on paper may have been expected to lose, turned the tables to take all three points.

Hartlepool Raby Arms lost 2-1 at Hartlepool Jacksons as they squandered a host of chances.

Hammil put the visitors ahead in the first half, but Raby hit back to score twice after the break. John Thompson was MOM.

Hartlepool Catholic Club were poor as they lost 4-0 at home to Hartlepool Stag and Monkey.

Ben Grimston netted twice in the first half and Lowden was also on target near the end. Marc Gibson was best for Catholic, while Good was Stag’s star man.

Houghton Burn beat Sunderland Rolls Royce 4-2 with two goals in each half while Micky Agnew, from the penalty spot, and Davy Lomax replied.

Jonny Nichols was man of the match for Rolls.
