Dance act Ultrabeat set to roll back the years

-

A much-loved dance music act from the 2000s is coming to Sunderland.

The memories for seasoned clubbers will come flooding back as Sunderland’s Club Upside Down has announced that Ultrabeat will play at the venue.

Ultrabeat, aka Ian Redman, is famous for the hit single Pretty Green Eyes, which reached number two in the UK charts in 2003 will play at the Vine Place club on Saturday, February 22, alongside drum and bass DJ, MC Cover.

In total, 14 DJs will perform at the Club Upside Down, including local up and coming acts Humby, Jack Lyonz and Shaun Anderson.

The appearance of Ultrabeat is somewhat of a coup for the Sunderland club, which opened in October 2018 after renovation costing about £150,000.

One of the organisers, Jordan Molloy who will perform on the night as part of Escapes, said it was “huge” for the club to have pulled in such a big name.

He said: “Having Ultrabeat and MC Cover come to Sunderland and Club Upside Down is huge for the place for a number of reasons.

“Ultrabeat has been an established international DJ since 2002 and had some huge tracks such as Pretty Green Eyes, Feeling Fine and Elysium (I Go Crazy).

“We’re very pleased to be able to have someone like Ultrabeat and MC Cover come to Sunderland.”

The event starts at 11pm and is expected to finish at about 5am.

Entrants to the event must be aged 18-plus.

Tickets are £11.25 each including booking fee and available at www.skiddle. com
