Tickets are now on sale for Sunderland’s new Lamplight Festival.

Earlier this month, it was announced that a new outdoor live music festival would be coming to Mowbray Park on August 8 and 9, with headline performances from Kaiser Chiefs, Frankie & the Heartstrings, Deacon Blue and KT Tunstall.

Now tickets have gone on sale for the family event, priced £39.50 for Saturday and £35 for the Sunday. Under 5s are free and children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Headlining on the Saturday will be Kaiser Chiefs, whose hits include Oh My God, I Predict A Riot, Ruby and Never Miss A Beat, with Sunderland's own Frankie & the Heartstrings confirmed as special guests.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson said: “It’s always great to be part of a new festival and we can’t wait to once again play alongside Frankie and the Heartstrings as well as other great acts to headline the Saturday stage in Sunderland.” Glasgow Rock-Pop legends Deacon Blue are set to headline the Sunday stage promising to perform a range of hits from their back catalogue, which includes Real Gone Kid and Dignity. Other artists on the bill for Sunday include singer-songwriter KT Tunstall and Roddy Woomble, the frontman and chief songsmith of famous Scottish rock outfit, Idlewild. More venues, artists and activities are still to be announced as part of the new festival.
