Boss Crumble praises Boldon CA after home victory against Tunns

-

Boldon CA manager David Crumbie hailed his side after they continued their impressive form with a 3-1 win at West Auckland Tunns.

Levi Collins continued his remarkable form with a brace that took his tally to 35 goals for the season and Alex McBeth was also on target as Boldon moved into the top eight of the table.

The result also means that Crumbie’s side have now lost just one of their last eight games in all competitions and they will hope to extend that run when they host South Tyneside rivals Hebburn Town Reserves next weekend.

The Boldon boss said: “The weather spoilt the game to be honest.

“And it’s almost impossible to play any football on that pitch, but we managed to get a win.

“We found a way to come away with all three points and continueourgoodrunofform since the turn of the year.”

Robbie Houghton grabbed the only goal of the game to help Gateshead Leam Rangers to a narrow win at Richmond Town.

A brace from Connor Woodford and single strikes from Jonathan Hope and Rikki Gain helped Darlington RA canter to a comfortable 4 -0 home win against Durham United.

Billingham Town slipped to a home defeat against Whickham in Northern League Division One.

The relegation-threatened visitors took a two-goal lead when Damien Stevens and Scott McCarthy both found the net as the half-hour approached.

Quickfire strikes from Town duo Luke Hogan and

Chris Dickinson looked to have ensured that the sides would go into half-time on level-terms.

But a Lee McAndrew penalty restored the Lang Jacks’ lead and Tom Scothern’s second half strike confirmed that second win in their last three games.

Billingham Synthonia boosted their hopes of securing promotion from Division Town as they claimed a sixth consecutive win at Esh Winning.

Leon Carling got the only goal of the game as David Dickson’s side remained in the fourth and final promotion place.
