Rising starts needed for Junior Bake Off

The applicatio­ns for the next series of Junior Bake Off are now open for aspiring young bakers who have dreamed of competing in the famous tent.

TheChannel­4programme that celebrates the culinary talent and ambition of the younger generation in Britain is back.

Junior bakers now have the opportunit­y to apply to compete in the tent for the next series of the children’s programme.

The chosen youngsters will need to tackle various baking challenges including making cakes, biscuits, bread and pastry in a bid to be crowned the Junior Bake Off champion.

Love Production­s, the company behind Junior Bake Off and The Great British Bake Off, have announced applicatio­ns are now open for the sixth series and youngsters have until April 5 to apply. The hit children’s TV show returned in November 2019 following a three-year break and featured North East youngster Vaughan Kelly who won the hearts of the nation during the competitio­n.

The then 13-year-old, from Hartlepool, made it to the semi-finals and his kindness and smiley attitude made him a hit with viewers.

The production team are looking for young budding bakers between nine to 15 years old.

Filming would take place from July 2020, over weekends and through the school summer holidays
